Who was the geocentric model proposed by and what does it show?
Ptolemy and the earth was at the centre and everything else moved around the earth in circular orbits.
Who was the heliocentric model proposed by and what does it show?
Nikolaus Copernicus and the sun was at the centre and the planets moved around the sun in circular orbits and the moon orbited the earth
What helped to prove the heliocentric model?
Galileo observed the night sky using a telescoe and saw mountain on the moon and four moons orbiting Jupiter. This shows that not everything orbits the earth
What does the hubble space telescope do?
Takes photographs using visible light as well as infrared and untraviolet waves
What do space probes do?
Take images of distant galaxies and the Milky Way using X-rays
What are space observatories used for?
They use infrared to produce images
