What is the function of the EPIDERMIS
A
Epidermis - (Epithelial Tissue)
- Thin protective layer, epithelial tissue
- Cells constantly undergoing cell division, producing millions of new cells.
- No blood supply of its own

What is the function of the DERMIS
A
Dermis - (Connective Tissue)
- Support and structure
- Contains sweat glands, hair follicles, sebaceous glands and sensory receptors.
- Rich nerve and blood supply (role in T regulation)
- Cells include macrophages, WBC and mast cells.

What is the function of HYPODERMIS
A
Hypordermis- (Subcutaneous layer)
- Essentially Adipose Tissue
- Anchors skin to underlying organs
- Serves as a ‘shock absorber’
- Insulates (extreme temperature changes)
- Stores and surplus nutrients
