the internal security of singapore is managed by the ministry of home affairs . some examples is the singapore police force which protects the people from crime and all manner of criminal harm and the singapore civil defence force who provides fire fighting, rescue and emergency medical services and implement ,enforce and formulate regulations on fire safety and secure defence shelter matters. this is important because a stable and secure country allows citizens to feel safe. in the long run, citizens will have greater confidence and sense of belonging in the country’s future so that it will prosper and benefit citizens. therefore, the government maintains internal order and external security for the good of society.

the external security in singapore is manged by the ministry of defence. some examples are the singapore army who are capable of conducting a spectrum of operations to defend the security,interests and sovereignty of singapore, the republic of singapore navy who ensures singapore’s seaward defence , secure our sea lines communications and maintain a high level of operational readiness and a broad spectrum of capabilities to support our national interest and the republic of singapore air force who deter aggression through the confront of the air and decisively influencing the ground and maritime battles. this is important because a stable and secure country allows citizens to feel safe. in the long run, citizens will have a greater confidence and sense of belonging in the country’s future so that it will prosper and benefit citizens. therefore, the government maintains internal order and external security for the good of society.
how is ensuring justice good for society?
the judiciary independently interprets and applies the laws passed by the legislature where they provide relevant information and taking action to protect singapore. an example is the family justice court provides guidelines on what is defined as family violence, who can apply for a personal protection order, how to apply for it and the actions that can be taken by the court. this is important because it will not be possible for anyone to influence the decisions of the judiciary. in the long run, singaporeans will have confidence that the courts will judge people fairly. therefore, the government ensures judiciary for the good of society.
how is providing goods and services for the public good for society?
a significant amount of resources have been devoted to providing goods and services for the public which is either provided by free or subsidised by the government. an example is the improvement in public transport system in singapore. in 2014, bus interchanges increase to 22 and MRT stations increase to 105, to provide goods and convenience to singaporeans. this is important because public goods and services are necessities that are non-exclusive, so no one can be discriminated from the use of them. in the long run, when the government provides public goods and services for free or at a subsidise rate, it will ensure that all citizens can have access to them. therefore, the government provides goods and services for the public for the good of society.
how is safeguarding the interest of citizens good for society?
the government implement legislation that safeguards the interests of citizens. an example is when the government introduced the work right initiative to help both employees and employers understand their rights and responsibilities respectively which creates awareness of employment rights among low-wage workers to ensure there is no abuse by employers. this is important because by doing so, citizens will feel that they matter to the government . in the long run, they will feel a sense of security in singapore. therefore, the government safe guards the interests of citizens for the good of society.
