Q

how is legal status an attribute that shapes citizenship?

A

legal status can shape citizenship as it includes the rights and responsibilities of citizens. some examples of the rights of citizens are that citizens enjoy the right to freedom of speech and religion which allows us to say what we want and practice the religion we choose. we are able to work in the country as well as subsidized education and healthcare. an example of responsibilities of citizens is practising responsible free speech and maintaining social harmony between races and religions. this is important because having rights and responsibilities ensures our well-being , allows us to be considered as members of the community and shape our outlook and identity. in the long run, legal status helps us see ourselves as one nation and be willing to work together. therefore, legal status is an attribute of shaping citizenship.
