Data which is descriptive in nature.
Objective data
Data which is collected via observations.
Subjective data
Data which is collected via communication.

An electronic measuring device, which determines the level of metabolism of an individual at rest.
GPS
Global positioning system - which helps to detect the motion of a performer.
Data integrity
The data that is collected and stored remains both accurate and relevant to the performer.
Aggression
An act towards others, often with the intent to harm them.
Blood doping
The process of artificially increasing the amount of red blood cells within the blood, increasing the availability of oxygen in the blood.
Commercialise
To utilise a potential product to create a profit.
Erythropoietin (EPO)
A drug which increases the red blood cell count in the body.
Extracurricular activities
Activities conducted outside normal learning hours, in addition to the normal day.
Gamesmanship
Using tactics that stretch the rules of a game to gain an advantage (within the rules of the game).
Hooliganism
Disruptive behaviour such as rioting and vandalism, often associated with football.

A strategy that has been put in place to get desired results.

The major method of communication that the population use to be informed of current events and news, including television, the internet, radio and newspapers.

Physical activity or exercise completed in a person’s own free time.

A school subject (in the National Curriculum) that focuses on the development of motor skills.

A group of people who are connected in a particular way.
Sponsorship
An individual or organisation that pays an individual or organisation to promote their brand.
Sport
Organised and competitive physical activity and results in physical, social and mental health benefits.
Sports analytics
Studying data from performance in sport in order to further improve performance.
Sportsmanship
Behaviour that shows respect to your opponent.
