Q

Process of inspiration

A
  1. The diaphragm contracts and flattens increasing the size of the chest cavity
  2. Pressure inside the lungs decreases and air enters the body through the nose and mouth
  3. Air goes down the trachea
  4. Trachea splits into 2 bronchi (one to each lung)
  5. Bronchi split into smaller bronchioles
  6. Bronchioles have small air sacs at the end called alveoli
  7. Diffusion takes place at the alveoli
  8. Diaphragm relaxes back into a dome shape
  9. Pressure inside the lungs increases and air is forced out of the nose and mouth
