The rate of photosynthesis Flashcards
give three examples of limiting factors in photosynthesis
Light, Carbon dioxide, temperature
how does light become a limiting factor?
As the light level is raised, the rate of photosynthesis increases steadily-but only up to a certain point, after this the C02 or temperature needs to be increased
how does CO2 become a limiting factor?
As the CO2 level is raised, the rate of photosynthesis increases steadily-but only up to a certain point, after this the light or temperature needs to be increased
how does temperature become the limiting factor?
If the temperature is too low photosynthesis cannot occur, however if it is too hot 45’ or over then the enzymes become denatured and photosynthesis cannot occur
