how are palisade leaf cells adapted for photosynthesis?
Packed with chloroplasts (especially at the top for light),tall shape and large surface area for absorption of CO2 and this shape mean there are lots of packed at the top of the leaf.
how are guard cells adapted to open and close pores?
Special kidney shape to open and close pores, lots of water to make it go plump and turgid to open and exchange gases, when short of water becomes flaccid making stomata close pores so that valuable liquid is not lost, thin and thick walls to help open and close and finally light sensitive cells to close at night when photosynthesis is not occurring
how are red blood cells adapted to carry oxygen?
Concave shape for big surface area to absorb oxygen and helps them pass through capillaries easily, full of haemoglobin ( a pigment that absorbs oxygen) and they have no nucleus for more for haemoglobin.
how are sperm cells adapted?
Long tail, streamlined head, mitochondria for energy and enzymes to remove cell membrane for penetration
how are egg cells adapted?
Contains food reserves for embryos, cell membrane designed to change and block other sperm ensure that the embryo has the right amount of DNA
