- Responsible for Storming the Bastille and forcing the Royal Family to go to Paris
- Supporters of the Jacobins

- Believed in equality
- Inspired by the Enlightenment and Revolutionary Ideas
- Opposed the Monarchy
- Left Wing

- Former Jacobins
- Didn’t want to see Louis dethroned
- Included Lafayette, Mirabeau and Sieyes
- Right Wing
Who were Club Monarchique?
- Wanted to return the Monarchy and the Ancien Regime
- Included Comte de Artois (Louis’ brother) who wanted to use foreign military force
- Gained support through Revolutionary Propaganda and charity
- Right Wing
Who were the Cordeliers Club?
- Similar to Jacobins however more radical
- Large membership due to the low fee and the acceptance of women
- Attacked the Ancien Regime and the Active and Passive Citizens policy
- Left Wing
