Jesus’ teachings on the Holy Spirit in John 14:15-18 & 16 refer to the Spirit as a personal being and one that can interact with humanity in relationship.
What qualities and ministries, possible only for a person are attributed to Him?
He is the Gift Giver - 1 Corinthians 12:11
He is the Convictor of Sin - John 16:8
How is the personality of the Holy Spirit expressed by His activity in the early Church? In the Old Testament?
Through the Church the Holy Spirit’s personality can be seen in his gift giving, his revealing of God’s truth, and his empowerment to share the Gospel.
Through the Old Testament, his personality is seen through empowerment of God’s people, and the writing of the Scriptures.
Why is belief in the personality of the Holy Spirit essential to orthodoxy?
Jesus’ teachings and the New Testament’s presentation of the Holy Spirit points to him being personal. Therefore to not believe in him, throws the teaching of Scripture to the side, and denies the God of Scripture.
What are the gifts of the Holy Spirit?
Romans 12:6-8 = Prophecy, Service, Teaching, Giving, Exhortation, Leadership, Mercy.
1 Corinthians 12:8-10 & 28 = Word of Wisdom, Word of Knowledge, Faith, Healing, Miracles, Distinguishing of Spirits, Tongues, Interpretation of Tongues.
Ephesians 4:11 = Evangelist, Pastor
How are these gifts given to the Church?
Through the will and digression of the Holy Spirit.

Differentiate between the fruit and the gifts of the Spirit
The gifts are given to the edification of the Church through the discretion pf the Spirit. Not all believers have all the gifts.
Whereas the fruits of the Spirit is to be seen in all believers as the Spirit works in their lives.
In what measure are the gifts that were exercised by the Apostles manifest today?
There has never been a reduction from a biblical stand point, therefore all gifts are for today.
What are the lessons to be learned and the errors to be shunned by the evangelical Church in light of the charismatic movement and its emphasis on the baptism and gifts of the Spirit?
To be biblically sound, not emphasizing gifts over sound theology and grace based salvation.
What is the relationship between baptism with the Holy Spirit and the filling with the Holy Spirit?
