Ilium
Large flat bone, constricted in the center + expanded above and below.
Ischium
Part of the hip bone that forms the front + back region.
Pubis
Lower + anterior part of the hip bone.
Iliac Fossa
The concave inner surface of the Ilium.
Iliac Crest
Superior margin.
Anterior Superior Iliac Spine
Bony projection of the iliac spine
Anterior Inferior Iliac Spine
Bony prominence located on anterior margin.
Acetabulum
Cup shaped socket in hip bone.
Ischial Spine
Back + Bottom.
Greater Sciatic Notch
Foramen in posterior pelvis.
Obturator Foramen
Large opening in the pelvis that allows the obturator nerve + blood vessels to pass through.
Ischial Tuberosity
Bony protrusion on the ischium.
Pubic Symphysis
Joint between left + right pelvic bones made of fibrocartlanious disc. + elements.
Subpubic Angle
Angle formed by the meeting of the inferior rami of the pubis bones, located just below the pubic symphysis, essentially creating the “pubic arch”.
