Name the three main hormones in menstruation.

LH, FSH and Oestrogen.

What does FSH do?
A
Causes an egg to mature and the ovaries to produce oestrogen.

A
Causes a fertilised egg to be released.

A
Causes the pituitary gland to produce LH.

Describe menstruation.
A
Bleeding occurs on day one as the uterus lining breaks down. The uterus then builds up again, ready for a fertilised egg. About 14 days in, a mature egg is released. If the egg is fertilised, it will burrow into the uterus, if not, it will get flushed out when the uterus breaks down.
