What is natural selection?
Individuals with characteristics better suited to the environment have a better chance of survival and are more likely to breed successfully. This means the next generation will be likely to have the better suited characteristics.
What is the theory of evolution?
That life on earth began as simple organisms where more complex organisms began to evolve.
What is a mutation?
A change in an organisms DNA.
Why was Darwin’s theory of evolution not completely accepted?
It was against religious beliefs and there wasn’t enough evidence.
What was Lamarck’s hypothesis about evolution?
That if a characteristic was used a lot by an organism, then it would become more developed and the characteristic would pass on to the next generation.
