How did the media capitalize on the killings? (4)
A
The knew that fear, panic and violence would sell papers so they set out to write (or illustrate as most couldn’t read) the most gruesome and sensationalized stories to make money
They couldn’t contact the police so they would fabricate things or embellish witnesses they talked to so they have a story to sell
It was likely the media who created his name, Jack the Ripper, to further sensationalize the story
They were also quick to point fingers at any and all suspects to sell papers
