What were the three stages of KKK?

Who did they target?
AA’s, whites who supported AA’s and the government that supported AA’s. This extended to Jews, Catholics, Homosexuals and immigrants (minority groups)
What were their methods?
Burning churches, crosses, drove people out of homes, violence, lynchings, public rallies and protests, internet, “adopt a highway” programme
What were they overshadowed by?
Nazi Activity but came back in 2005
When did they become more political and why?
1920’s because state officials were becoming members
Were local law officials able to stop them?
No, nor were they willing
When was the Force Bill and what did it do?
1871 and it meant the federal government could prosecute the Klan
When and what was the Enforcement act?
1871 and it was a response to the unrest during Reconstruction
What is the current situation for the KKK?
It’s a small organisation that stages demonstration in favor of white supremacy and Christian theology
