The Kingdoms Flashcards
Animal kingdom
Their cells have a nucleus but no cell walls or chloroplast
They feed off organic substances made by other living organisms
Plant kingdom
Their cells have a nucleus and cell willows made of cellulose and often contain chloroplasts
They feed by photosynthesis
They have roots stems and leaves(but some plants do not have these organs
Fungus
They are multicellular but some a unicellular
They have nuclei and cell walls but the walls aren’t made of cellulose
They do not have chlorophyll
They feed by digesting waste and organic material and absorbing it
prokaryote kingdom
this kingdom contains a huge number of organism. Bacteria belongs to this kingdom, the most important difference is that they do not have a nucleus
vertebrates
these living organism have backbones these are fish amphibians reptiles birds and mammals
amphibians
amphibians are mostly creatures that live on land but go back to the water to breed
.the are vertebrates with skin with no scales
.their eggs have no shells and are lain in water
.the tadpoles live in water but the adults often live on land
the tad poles have gills for gas exchange but the adults land lungs
reptiles
these are crocodiles, lizards, snakes etc
reptiles all have scales on their skin, unlike amphibains reptiles do not have to go back to the water to breed because their shells are soft and waterproof
birds
birds are easy to spot they are the only animals with feathers (some do have scales but normally on their legs
.most of them have feathers
. not all can fly
. they lay eggs with hard shells
