A

Massachusetts was not allowed to have a town Meeting unless given permission by the colonial governor. Anyone accused of murder would be tried in England.

What was the first Continental Congress?

A

In September of 1774, 50 leaders from 12 colonies gathered in Philadelphia, each one called delegates. The delegates agreed to send a peaceful letter to the king and boycott goods until the Intolerable Acts were repealed.

What did colonists do in case the boycott didn’t work?

A

The formed militias, or local armies made of the ordinary farmers, blacksmiths, etc. New England militias were called the Minutemen, who were ready to fight in 60 seconds.
