What three bones come together to make the pelvic bone?
Ilium, Pubis and Ischium
Which two ligaments help to anchor the pelvic bone to the end of the vertebral column? Where do they attach to pelvic bone?
Sacrotuberous and sacrospinous, they attach to ischial tuberosity
Which part of the pelvic bone does the femoral head articulate with?
Acetabulum
What is the function of the acetabular labrum?
To deepen the joint making it more stable
What is the fovea on the femoral head?
A no articular pit on the medial surface which acts as a site of attachment for a ligament to the head
What are the four major routes that structures exit the pelvis to enter the lower limb?
Greater sciatic foramen, lesser sciatic foramen, obturator canal and the gap between the inguinal ligament and anteriosuperior margin pelvis
