The Heart Function Flashcards
Superior Vena Cava
deoxygenated blood in from upper body
Inferior Vena Cava
deoxygenated blood in from lower body
Right Atrium
pumps deoxygenated blood from inferior vena cava and superior vena cava into the tricupsid valve
Tricupsid Valve
opens to allow deoxygenated blood flow from right atrium to right ventricle
Right Ventricle
pumps deoxygenated blood into the pulmonary valve
Pulmonary Valve
opens to allow deoxygenated blood flow from right ventricle to pulmonary artery
Pulmonary Artery
deoxygenated blood is pumped and leaves for the right lung through right pulmonary artery and left lung through left pulmonary artery, to be oxygenated
Pulmonary Veins
oxygenated blood from right and left lungs
Left Atrium
pumps oxygenated blood from pulmonary viens into the bicupsid valve
Left Ventricle
pumps oxygenated blood into the aortic valve
Aortic Valve
opens to allow oxygenated blood flow into the aorta
Aorta
pumps oxygenated blood to upper body and lower body
