- Tells Nausicaa to do the washing, including men’s clothes.
- Tells her to ride to the river.
- Makes the maids miss the ball.
- Puts courage into Nausicaa’s heart.
- Envelopes Odysseus in a thick mist.
- Appears to Odysseus as a young girl to help him find his way.
Why is Poseidon hostile towards Odysseus?
Polyphemus, his son, prayed to him to bring disaster on Odysseus and his men.
What did Poseidon cause to Odysseus?
He caused powerful storms which can therefore make Odysseus take refuge on strange islands and come face to face with monsters.
How does Hermes help with Calypso?
He appears to tell Calypso of Zeus’ decision.
How does Hermes help with Circe?
He appears with advice and the herb moly to help rescue his men from Circe.
