The future of: Dogs Flashcards
What technology allows dogs to talk?
FluentPet uses a system of buttons to give pets a “voice”. The buttons are placed in into differently coloured hexagonal tiles, which group together different kinds of words, such as action words, sentence objects, adjectives and places.
When did dogs become domesticated?
In 2021, a literature review of the current evidence infers that the dog was domesticated in Siberia 23,000 years ago by Ancient North Eurasians, then later dispersed eastwards into the Americas and westwards across Eurasia.
How much can dogs smell than us?
In fact, it has been estimated that dogs can smell anywhere from 1,000 to 10,000 times better than people.
How many smells can a dog detect?
Depending on the breed, dogs have up 100 million or more scent receptors in their noses. And those terrific trackers we know as Bloodhounds have 300 million! Dogs can detect some smells in parts per trillion. However, extra scent receptors don’t just mean dogs can sniff subtle odors we would miss.
What is Zoolingua?
With the goal of improving the relationship between dogs and their owners, Zoolingua is now developing a mobile app designed to translate dog body language and sounds to English. The team is collecting data on dog body language, facial expressions and vocalisations for model training.
