What is the fight or flight response?
A
the response that allows people to have a quick response to a life threatening situation

How does the fight or flight response occurs?
A
- amygdala is mobalised (this associates sensory signals with emotions like fear and anger)
- amygdala sends distressed signals to the hypothalamus which activates the sympathetic nervous system
- sympatheic nervous system tells the adrenal gland to secrete adrenaline and noradrenaline causing a physical reaction

What are the physical reactions caused by the fight or flight response?
A
- increased heart rate
- dielated pupils
- muscle tension
- increased breathing rate
- sweat production
- reduced immune and digestive system
