Q

What are dendrons and their function?

A
  • they are branch like structures that some off the cell body
  • it carries nerve impulses towards the cell body

Q

What is the node of ranvier and it’s function?

A
  • gaps that separate mylein sheath
  • makes sure the myelin sheath isn’t continuous as it could slow down electrical impulses
  • it does this by making the impulses jump along the axon

Q

What is the myelin sheath and their function?

A
  • they are an insulated membrane of the cells that make up the axon (schwann cells)
  • they allow impulses to be transmitted faster along the axon
