Define experiment.

A

A research method where causal relationships can be drawn because an IV has been deliberately manipulated to observe the causal effect on the DV.

Define extraneous variables.

A

Do not very systematically with the IV (don’t act as an alternative IV) but my impact the DV. ‘Nuisance variables’.

A

A variable that is not the IV but systematically varies with the IV. It will impact the DV and will be impossible to control for.
