The Bible is literally God’s word, they believe there are no errors and the Bible is true in all it says.

- Bible writers inspired by God
- There are mistakes as humans wrote it
- Needs to be interpreted to apply to modern day scenarios
- E.g Adam and Eve, Jonah and the Whale are myths
- Those stories contain moral stories
- If decisions conflict with biblical teachings then the decision should be rejected.
What are liberal views of the Bible?
- Bible stories are mythical and symbolic
- Bible is the writers experience with God and the impact on their lives
- Provides guidance and inspiration
- Bible is not inerrant
How did God show humans what He is like?
- Incarnation
- Coming as Jesus
How did God show his love for humans through Jesus?
- Took on the limitations of a human body to show people how to live in a godly manner to please God
- Sacrificed on the cross for human sin
- He was aware of the pressures and emotions humans experience.
How do Christians come to know about Jesus?
- Through the Gospels
- In Jesus, God shows himself in a way humans can understand.
Define miracle.
A wonderful, supernatural event or act that cannot be explained by the laws of nature of science.
What does the resurrection tell Christians about Jesus?
- That Jesus was God has he possessed the power over death.
List some miracles from the Bible.
- Parting the Red Sea in Exodus so Israelites could flee slavery in Egypt
- New testament: Healing leprosy (Matthew 8), calming a storm (Mark 4). Power over natural world shown
What are Christian views about miracles today?
- Some believe God still gets involved today with miracles, he reveals his power and love for humanity through miracles.
- Some believe that God revealed himself through Jesus and then the Bible and no further revelation is necessary.
How do inspirational people help Christians?
- Christians hear the way God has helped other people, they may feel God’s presence
- Or feel God’s presence and be inspired by the work of someone in a Church
- Or someone who has converted to Christianity from a bad life (drugs, alcohol) may give another Christian a sense of God’s power and work.
- The Holy Spirit in a persons life is a source of inspiration and courage to continue their faith.
What do figures from Christian history show?
- E.g. Christians who led at the time of revival (many converting to Christianity), (John Weasly).
- This encourages Christians to believe that God has worked in this way in the past so they can pray he does it in the future.
- It shows the power of God at work across different eras and around the world.
