There was a lot of industrial growth in 1914 and most workers had to work 14-15 hours which was longer than what was normally allowed by law.
What was the war like by the time of the Brusilov offensive ? (June-September 1916).
By the time of the Brusilov offensive, some of the deficiencies in equipment had been rectified. However, the loss of experienced officers, killed in the early stages of war, continuing heavy casualties and a determining economic and political situation in Russia itself led to a fall in morale and 1.5 million deserters by the end of that year.

Why were political parties permitted in Russia?
Political parties were only permitted in Russia from 1906 as a compromise from the Tsar from the 1905 revolution when innocent protesters were shot on Bloody Sunday.
