why didn’t the league achieve its initial aims
A
- aimed to act against aggression and work toward disarmament
- league failed and ww2 broke out
- the league did have SOME success in settling disputes in the 1920s
- helped improve social issues but it wasn’t its main purpose

how was the league doomed from the start
A
- the league was created to defend the treaty but it was already associated with unpopular diplomacy
- a lot of important countries were not involved in the league such as America Germany and Russia this impacted the league’s wealth and military power
- the leagues organisation and membership made the decision making very complicated
- Britain and France had a lot of self motives from the start

how did the league make bad decisions
A
- none of the members wanted to risk their armies after ww1
- ambitious members weren’t punished strong enough
- alot of powerful members left the league
- after the manchurian crises alot of countries lost faith in the league and expected war

how did the league have to deal with issues that it couldn’t control
A
- in the 1930s the Depression made the political situation tougher world the world
- the depression made a lot of countries in the league too weak to respond to and help international affairs whilst they had their own problems
