25
Q

How is sunshine measured?

26
Q

What are the three types of clouds?

A
  • Stratus
  • Cumulous
  • Cirus
27
Q

What are stratus clouds?

A

Look like flat sheets and indicate a rainy day

28
Q

What are cumulus clouds?

A

Look like fluffy balls of cotton indicate good weather

29
Q

What are cirrus clouds?

A

Wispy curls

30
Q

What is conventional rain?

A

The ground is heated and cools and condensed into clouds

31
Q

What s cyclonic or frontal rain?

A

A cold front and warm front come together, the warm air is less dense than the cold air so it rises. It cools ams condenses into clouds.

32
Q

What is relief rain?

A

When prevailing winds pick up moisture when it travels across the sea. When the wind reaches the coast it is forced upwards into clouds. As the wind continues to go over the mountain it drops its moisture as relief rain

33
Q

What are the four stages of the water cycle?

A
  • Evaporation
  • Condensation
  • Precipitation
  • Run off
34
Q

What is the green house gas effect?

A

The gases in the earths atmosphere are being trapped in the earth and causes an increase in temperature
