What are the two parts of an adrenal gland?
The outer part - Adrenal cortex.

What is the main distinction between the hormones released by the adrenal cortex and the adrenal medulla?
The adrenal cortex hormones are necessary for life, the adrenal medulla hormones are not.
What hormone does that adrenal cortex produce?
Cortisol.
What does cortisol do?
Regulates or supports a variety of important bodily functions such as cardiovascular functions.
When is cortisol released?
In response to stress.
What will happen if cortisol levels are low?
Low blood pressure, poor immune function, inability to deal with stress.
What does the adrenal medulla release?
Adrenaline and noradrenaline.
What do adrenaline and noradrenaline do?
Prepare the body for fight or flight.
When is adrenaline released?
In response to a stressful situation.
What does adrenaline do to the body?
