  1. Coagulase Test (Staphaurex Plus)
  2. DNase test
  3. Mannitol salt agar & CHROMID S.aureus elite agar (SAIDE)
    Incubate 37C overnight

Materials:
1. Staphaurex Plus test kit (incl. Test reagent, Control reagent, card)
2. Staph aureus control
3. DNA agar plate
4. Staph epidermidis control
5. Mannitol salt agar plate x 3
6. CHROMID S.aureus Elite agar plate x2

  1. Lancefield grouping
  2. Bacitracin susceptibility test
  3. MacConkey agar growth test.
    Incubate 37C overnight

Materials:
1. Oxoid Streptococcal Grouping kit (incl. enzyme extract x3 + latex reagents (A,B,C,D,F,G) + test card x3)
2. Wooden sticks
3. Blood agar plate x3
4. Bacitracin disks x3
5. Bijou x3
6. MacConkey agar plate
7. Controls = Strep. pyogenes, Enterococcus.

  2. Bile Aesculin growth test
    Incubate 45C overnight !!
  3. MacConkey agar growth test
    Incubate 37C overnight

Materials:
1. Oxoid Streptococcal Grouping kit (enzyme extracts x3 + test reagents (A,B,C,D,F,G) + tests card x 3)
2. Bile Aesculin agar plates x 3
3. MacConkey agar plates x3
3. Controls = Enterococcus , Strep pyogenes

  1. Taxo Sugar Utilization test
    Incubate 37C 5-10% CO2 48hrs

Materials:
1. CHOCOLATE agar x2
2. Taxo sugar disks x2 (glucose (aka dextrose), maltose, lactose, sucrose)
3. Bijou x2
4. Control = N.lactamica.

  1. Trehalose fermentation
  2. Urease production (& blood agar purity plate)
  3. Tinsdale medium growth test.
    Incubate 37C for 48hrs.
    Remember to looses caps + dig wire into agar + aseptic technique!

Materials:
1. Trehalose broth x 2
2. Urea agar x2
3. Blood agar plate x2
3. Tinsdale medium agar plate x2
4. Control = C. ulcerans.
