Wait 3 to 5 min before developing the specimen, the test result is positive if any trace of blue color is detected on or at the edge of the smear, apply two drops of developer to the back of the card, not directly onto the specimen, The assistant should interpret the results 1 min after the developer is applied. The assistant should instruct the patient to stop taking NSAIDs a week before the test, as NSAIDs can cause a false positive result. No more than 250 mg of Vitamin C.
