Test and Measurement Equipment Flashcards
What are the three different categories of TME?
Test and Measurement Equipment Categories;
- General Purpose Test and Measurement Equipment (GPTME).
- Special Purpose Test and Measurement Equipment (SPTME).
- Automatic Test Systems (ATS).
State two items that would not be classed as TME?
Precision Termination Tools (PTT)
Torque Wrenches
State the three categories the TME Controller Cell (TMEC) is responsible for?
TMEC responsibilities fall under three main categories;
- Maintenance of TME
- Calibration Management
- Inventory Management
Define the term “Calibration”?
The process of comparing an item of measuring equipment against another of greater accuracy to an accepted ‘Referenced Standard’.
What Pre-Use checks should be conducted on all items of TME prior to use?
Before Use;
- TME has a certified MOD Form 731 (Equipment Conditioning Label) attached.
- Item has an appropriate valid conditioning label attached.
- If applicable, has an unbroken integrity seal in place.
- It is not damaged in any way that may affect its accuracy.
- If any of the above is applicable, TME must be quarantined and TMEC informed.
Under which circumstances shall all items of TME be removed from service?
Invalidation of Calibration;
Any TME shall immediately be removed from service and labeled accordingly that;
- Is outside its designated calibration period.
- Has failed in operation.
- Is suspected or know to be outside its designated limits.
- Shows evidence of physical damage that may affect its accuracy.
- Has a broken integrity seal.
What MOD Form is used in conjunction with TME to confirm the state of equipment?
Calibration Labels;
- MOD 1775A/B/C Valid Calibration
- MOD 1776A/B/C Limited Calibration (yellow stripe).
- MOD 1777A/B/C Unit Level Test (green stripe).
- MOD 1778 Calibration Not Maintained (blue stripe).
- MOD 1779 Unserviceable (red stripe).
- MOD 1780 Calibration Not Required (all white with red lettering).
- MOD 1781 and MOD 1781A Integrity Seal (all white with black lettering).
- MOD 1782 Integrity Seal (all white with black lettering).
- MOD Form 731
