Which F707 documentations does the CIT trade use?
Within the CIT trade, the following F707 documentation is used for maintenance tasks;
- F707B – Maintenance Work Order
- F707BE – Maintenance Work Order (Continuation Sheet)
- F707P – Omnibus Work Order
- F707PA – Omnibus Work Order (Continuation Sheet).
Who can sign maintenance documentation as a 1st Signature?
1st signature – Completed by the tradesperson/operator.
What does signing as a 1st Signature certify with regards to the task?
- The task was undertaken and completed in accordance with all applicable Technical Information (TI) and any additional instructions issued by the task supervisor.
- Where components have been fitted/refitted, they have been checked to ensure that they are the correct item and to the correct modification state.
- All detachable panels and access doors removed or opened during the maintenance task have been closed or refitted.
- All tools used during the task have been accounted for.
What is the process of becoming a 1st Signature?
- Personal knowledge of the individual
- Information gleaned from the individual’s immediate supervisors/managers
- The content of any related Certificate of Competence held by the individual
- Any relevant course certificates held by the individual
- An interview with the individual
- Direct observation of the individual’s workmanship.
What documentation is used to document the granted Authorisations of a Tradesman?
Authorisations will be documented on F4820B.
Who is responsible for signing as a 2nd Signature?
2nd signature – Completed by the supervisor.
What does signing as a 2nd Signature certify with regards to the task?
- Tradesperson is authorised and competent to do the job.
- Tradesperson has been adequately briefed (including the need for any other checks, inspections or functional tests).
- Tradesperson has access to the correct tools, equipment, TI and instructions necessary to complete the task.
- The work has been completed, to their satisfaction, in accordance with all relevant TI. The entries detailing the work carried out on the maintenance documentation are explicit, complete and legible, quoting the TI reference and amendment state, where applicable. Any associated stage checks, inspections and functional tests have been correctly documented and, if required, correctly transferred to another maintenance document.
Once signed, what does Maintenance Documentation become?
Once signed, maintenance documents constitute legally binding certificates;
Therefore, the importance of correct recording and certification cannot be over-emphasized.
How long is Maintenance Documentation retained for?
Maintenance Documentation is to be retained for a minimum of 12 months unless otherwise stated.
