ethics examines questions and answers concerning morality and examines the decisions and beliefs of humans it is normative because to goes beyond describing how humans act toward one another and how they should act toward each other.
differance between moral and strategic reasoning
Moral- determines what is right through sound use of moral elements and theories is altruistic
Strategic- Egotistic, focus is on what is advantageous for me or my team school and organization, determines what is right through cost benefit and risk analysis
is a strategic justification for an action a sufficient moral justification
No- moral actions are frequently not our own advantage- strategic justifications only explain why acts are advantageous not why they are morally right

competiton- sports are viewed as partnerships goal is mastery and the excellent focus is on the process of competition, oppentes are enablers officials are game facilitators rules are imperfect guides to fairness.
Decompetiton- sport is viewed as war goal is domination focus on winning opponents are obstacles offices are opponents
what is bracketed morality what is it dependant upon
sports contexts are set apart from everyday morality sports morality is not separate from everyday morality but rather nested in it and informed by it
it is dependant on conditions particular to sports that ensure further conditions of equal competition equal oppurtuinty and safety
