Definition of extremism? (HM Government, 2011)
The vocal or active opposition to fundamental British values, including democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs. Calls for the death of members of our armed forces, whether in this country or overseas.
Problems with prevent 2007?
Accused of spying
Blurred boundaries between prevent and pursue
Put pressure on grassroots workers to divulge information

Positive.
Young Muslim men more negative of them, but overall 43% still said the police were effective

The police need the community as much as the community needs them as the state can’t solve problems on its own
