5 techniques for resolving conflict – situational

A

withdraw/avoid - retreats from or postpones the issues; does not resolve the conflict
Smooth/accommodate - temporary, emphasizes agreement but does not resolve the conflict
Compromise/reconcile (lose/lose) - resolves conflict by seeking quick resolution but requiring each side to ‘give up’ something; may not completely resolve the conflict.
