Description: creates the project performance baseline in supporting management plans. This process is the alpha and omega of planning. Planning does not finish until completing all the processes on planning column
Key Output: project management plan
Direct and Manage Project Work - majority of budget will be spent, project document (living document which is updated throughout the project, may get assigned to someone once project is closed

Description: manages the execution of the project as directed by the project plan

Description: uses existing knowledge and creates new knowledge to achieve the project objectives
Key Outputs: the lessons learned register (list)
Monitor and Control Project Work
Process Group: monitor & controlling
Knowledge Area: integration
Description: monitors the work of the project and adjust it if required
Key Outputs: work performance reports and change request
Preform Integrated Change Control
Process Group: monitor & controlling

Description: approves change request
Key Outputs: approved change request, change log
Close Project of Phase
Process Group: closing
Knowledge Area: integration
Description: finalizes activities to close out project or phase
Key Outputs: the final product service or result transition, OPA (organization process assets) updates, final report, final lessons learned register
