Bipolar Disorder
extremes of depression alternating with hyperactivity and excitement
Narcolepsy
daytime sleepiness and sudden periods of loss of wakefulness
Attention deficit disorder (ADD)
various conditions characterized by an inability to concentrate on one activity for longer than a few mins and state of hyperkinesis
Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome
a life-threatening idiosyncratic reaction to antipsychotic drugs characterized by fever, altered mental status, muscle rigidity, and autonomic dysfunction
Dystonia
involuntary muscle contractions that cause slow repetitive movements or abnormal postures.
Reye syndrome
a rare but serious condition that causes swelling in the liver and brain
Akathisia
continuous restlessness, inability to sit still
Pseudoparkinsonism
muscle tremors
drooling
shuffling gait
slow movements
Tardive dyskinesia
abnormal muscle movements such as lip smacking, tongue darting, chewing movements, slow and aimless arm & leg movements
Ataxia
lack of muscle control or coordination of voluntary movements, such as walking or picking up objects.
it can affect various movements and create difficulties with speech, eye movement and swallowing.
