Zoonotic infection
a disease that is transmitted from a nonhuman animal to a human being
Vehicle transmission
transmission by an inanimate reservoir (food, water, air)
Airborne transmission
occurs through contact with contaminated respiratory droplets spread by a cough or sneeze. Can linger in the air.
Vector transmission
transmission of an infectious agent by an insect, arthropod, or animal
Droplet transmission
transmission via airborne droplets less than 1 meter
