A
hyperactivity
aggressive behavior
hallucinations
hydrophobia
aerophobia
death occurs by cardio-respiratory arrest

A
muscle gradually becomes paralyzed, starting at the site
coma slowly develops
death occurs

Diagnosis
A
no tests before onset of clinical disease
if rabies is suspected, treatment begins before diagnosis is confirmed
delay = fatal

Treatment
A
no signs or symptoms and suspected rabies infection –> post-exposure prophylaxis
cleaning the wound, admin. rabies immunoglobin
admin. rabies vaccine
has symptoms = comfort
