CONDYLE
Large, round prominence at the end of a bone, generally involved in forming a joint. Covered in articular cartilage
EPICONDYLE
A rounded protuberance at the end of a bone, found on the condyle. Serves as an attachment for ligaments and muscles.
SUPRACONDYLAR RIDGE
A ridge above the condyles that serves for muscle attachment
CAPITULUM
Smooth rounded eminence on lateral aspect of distal humerus. Articulates with radius
TROCHLEA
Grooved eminence on medial aspect of distal humerus
RIDGE
Line on the surface of a bone
TUBERCLE
Small knobby protrusion
TROCHANTER
Rough prominence at the proximal aspect of the femur
TUBEROSITY
Mediate prominence that is sometimes rough found on ribs
FOSSA
Shallow depression on bone surface
NOTCH
Depression in bone e.g jugular notch
FORAMEN
Hole in bone
FACET
Smooth, flat surface that forms a joint by articulating with a facet of another bone and creating a gliding joint.
PROJECTION
An area of the bone that projects above the surface of the bone
CREST
Raised, or prominent edge of a bone e.g Iliac crest
