- Conventional- A-beta; 80-120Hz, <100 duration; 15m- there but comfortable
- Acupuncture- A-delta; 2-5Hz; >200 duration; 30m- strong sensation
- Burst- all mech; 10Hz; 2-3 bursts per sec; >30m- strong sensation
- Modulated- all; varies; varies; >30- strong but comfortable

- Skin with poor sensitivity
- Devitalised tissue
- Local circulatory insufficiency

- Inappropriate electrode positon
- Epilepsy
- Damaged/bleeding skin/dermatological conditions
- Pacemaker
- Undiagnosed pain
- Malignancy
- Allergy/infection
- Epiphyseal regions
- Unreliable client
- Stimulation of autonomic trunks

- Pain relief
