Q
THR
A
- RIB
- 2xA
a. Post. = SOEOB, STS, few steps along bed with SF
b. Lat. = SOOB (high chair) 30 min, 2x day - 2xA; SOOB with SF, mobilise 5m away
- 1-2xA; mobilise 15m, progress gait aid (2 W/S), teach step
- > >
- Independent bed mobility, mobility with RF, few metres 1 W/S
2
Q
NOF
A
- 2xA; SOEOB, dangle legs 2-4 hrs post-surgery, mobilise with gait aid after 4hrs
- 2xA; WBAT with frame, SOOB 3xday for ½ hr, walk 2-5m 2xday with frame
- 2xA; SOOB 3x1hr, walk 2-5m with aid
- 1-2xA; SOOB 3x1hr, walk 5-10m with aid
- SOOB 2x2hrs, walk 5-15m
- Encourage independent mobility with frame or crutches
3
Q
TKR
A
- 2xA; SOOB and WBAT with frame, encourage Kn F while SOOB
- 2xA; progress to move away from bedside
- -4; 1-2xA; teach step
- -7; independent bed mobility, lie to SOEOB, STS, mobility with RF, few metres with 1-2 W/S

Q
Arthroscopy limitations
A
- Chondroplasty = nil specific
- Osteoplasty = limit excessive WB for first few days
- Lateral release = encourage flexion despite pain
- Menisectomy = nil specific
- Meniscus repair = avoid flexion > 90, WB restricted 6/52, avoid squatting 6/52
5
Q
ACL
A
- Start with closed chain, PROM stretches and Isom
- Stage 1- 0-4/52 = reduce swelling, ROM, quads activation
- Stage 2- 4-16/52 = SLS, strength, neuromuscular control
- Stage 3- 6/52-6/12 = technique (run, jump, land), agility, full strength and balance
- Stage 4- 6-9/12 = RTS plyometrics
- RTS dictated by surgeon
- Re-injury/prevention important to consider- FIFA 11
