Temperature Of Freshly Mixed Hydraulic Cement Concrete Flashcards
What is the Performance Checklist 7 steps
- Obtain sample in a non-absorptive container that can provide 75 mm of cover
2.Use a CSA Approved Thermometer accurate to 0.5 degrees through 0 to 50 degrees - Place thermometer in sample with min 75 mm cover
- Gently press the concrete around the thermometer
- Read the temperature after a minimum or 2 minutes
- Complete the measurement within 5 minutes
- Record temperature to nearest 0.5 degree
The temperature measuring device shall be calibrated blank or blank
Annually / question of accuracy
Calibration should be performed within the range of blank to blank two temperatures at least blank apart
0 / 50 / 15
Temp of concrete can be taken in a wheelbarrow
True
The temperature of concrete can be taken in concrete placed in a wall form
True
If a 150 x 300 mm test cylinder mould is used as a container for measuring the temperature of concrete. What must be done to the container
The container must be dampened
What must be done to the concrete surrounding the temperature measuring device after it is inserted into the fresh concrete
Must be gently pressed around the temperature measuring device
How long must the temperature measure device remain in the freshly mix concrete for an accurate reading?
Two minutes or until stable
What action must be taken after the temperature measuring device has remained in the freshly mix concrete for two minutes and the temperature reading has stabilized
Read and record the temperature wow the temperature measuring device remains in the concrete
Complete the temperature measurement of freshly mixed concrete within blank immediately after blank the sample
5 min / obtaining
The temperature of the concrete is recorded to the nearest blank
0.5 degree
What is the purpose of measuring temperature of freshly mixed concrete?
To verify conformance
What special procedures are required when measuring the temperature of concrete containing course aggregate particles that are greater than 80 mm
Ensure the temperature is stabilized before recording the reading
