Asthenosphere
It’s the layer below the Lithosphere.

That continents have moved horizontally to there current locations.

Occur when two plates move apart. (can make rifts)
Lithosphere
the crust and upper mantle.

The mane Wegner gave to a large land mass made up of all continents.

The theory Earth’s crust and upper mantle (lithosphere)that moves around the mantle.
Sea floor spreading
Hot less dense material in the mantle is forced upwards to the surface at the mid-ocean ridge.
Subduction Zone
Area where ocean plate descends into the upper mantle.
Transform Fault
strike slip fault ( plates slide past each other)
How does a convection current work?
when it gets hot it rises, moves along horizontally, cools, sinks repeats.
How are mid ocean ridges formed?
It is when two are moving away from each other which is how ridges form.
Describe evidence that shows continental drift
Fossils, climate, Mountains are found in different areas. Technology helps.
