What is a jig?
A type of tool that allows you to control the location/ motion of another tool to get exact and consistent results
What is a former?
An object/ tool that allows for the shaping of another material.
What are the types of saw?
Tennon saw (straight lines) Copping saw (Curved lines)
What’s the difference between cross and draw filling?
Draw - Filling the length of the wood
Cross- Filling the width of the wood
What is a pilot hole?
When a smaller drill bit is used to allow you to see where the drill will cut
What is a clearance hole?
When you use a drill bit big enough to allow for a bolt or fixing to fit through
What is tapping?
When you use a tool to add threads into a hole in a material to allow for a bolt to screw it.
What is counter sinking?
When you add a larger entrance to a screw hole to allow it to sit flat on the material
