What are the main ways designers gather information about the customers needs and wants?

A
  • They look at current trends for example what products are successful and why they are successful. (why customers buy it product)
  • Interviews and questionnaires with the customer and what they like to see in a product (ACCESSFM)
  • Conducting focus groups with the product’s target market- they can be interviewed to gather feedback throughout the designing process.
  • Collecting anthropometric data about the target market’s size, shapes and weight to improve comfortability (ergonomics), dimensions and even load stresses.
  • Study into ergonomics- testing how the customer interacts with the product to improve functionality and make it more comfortable.
