What are the advantages and disadvantages of flat pack furniture ?

Advantages
- Easier and cheaper to transport around/ deliver as less space is required
- Less chance the product gets damaged in transport
- More attractive to buy in a store as a customer could easily take it home with them.
- Some people like building their furniture
Disadvantages
- Can be difficult to construct for some
- The customer may not construct it properly which could result in breakages
- Frustration when building
- Clear instructions need to be provided
- design restrictions because the customer needs to be able to easily construct it. (special joints)
- Can be more expensive due to specialized joints that are easy to construct (KDF- Knock down fittings).
