Focuses on how a team tackles a task. Originally consisted of 4 phases, a 5th phase was added later.
Forming – Storming – Norming – Performing - Adjouring
4- Herzberg Theory?
Two Factor motivational theory.
Workers are motivated to work harder through motivators, such as, empowerment, job enlargement, job enrichment.
Workers can become de motivated if hygiene factors are not met, such as, pay, relationships, working conditions.
What makes a Good team?
A team that works collaboratively, co-operated well and all with aims of clients objectives at the front.
What makes a bad team?
One goes against any traits above, only look after their own interests, uncooperavtive and blames others.

Working and dealing with various types of people of different organisational positions & with different attitudes and personalities.
Developed communication, presentation, and reporting skills.

Provide an example of when you have effectively worked as part of a team?
- On a daily basis our department works as a team through the organisation of our survey schedule.
- I have worked in tandem with other departments on projects where there are commercial and residential elements. On such project was the valuation of a building in Dunbar that contained 3 flats that were over 2 retail units.
How would you approach a situation where a team member was not delivering appropriate levels of input on project you were working on together?
- Talk to them directly.
- Have team discussion explaining that some are not pulling weight without naming names.
What constitutes good team working?
- Clear expectations.
- Open and honest communication.
- Creating a sense of belonging within the group.
- Frequent evaluation.
- Decisions made together.
Working as a team can allow surveyors to work at maximum efficiency, describe what type of jobs and processes could be shared with trainees and admin to allow “more time surveying”?
- Data input and typing of reports.
- Obtaining figures/information from other agents.
- Responding to simple queries.
