Jīva
The individual self, limited by ignorance (avidyā).
Īśvara
The Lord, Brahman associated with Māyā.
Brahman
The ultimate reality, pure existence, consciousness, and bliss.
Avidyā

Māyā
The cosmic illusion that creates the perception of duality.
Pratibimba
Reflection of consciousness; the jīva is a reflected aspect of Brahman.
Bimba
The original consciousness or Brahman, from which reflections arise.
Upādhi
A limiting adjunct, such as avidyā for jīva or Māyā for Īśvara.
Śruti
Scriptural testimony revealing the oneness of jīva and Īśvara.
Tādātmaya
The apparent identification of the self with its limiting adjuncts.
Mokṣa
Liberation; realizing the unity of jīva and Īśvara as Brahman.
Saguṇa Brahman
Brahman with attributes; associated with Māyā as Īśvara.
Nirguṇa Brahman
Brahman without attributes; the absolute reality.
Jīva-Īśvara Aikyam
The oneness of the individual self and the Lord.
